INSPIRING KIDS: Building an Arcade

Nine-year-old Caine Monroy of East Los Angeles spent his whole summer building a cardboard arcade in his father’s used car parts store. Filmmaker Nirvan Mullick was one of Caine’s first and only customers. However, Mullick got together a mob of people to come to Caine’s arcade and play. Every time someone would win the game, Caine would crawl under the cardboard games and dispense the tickets manually. Mullick made a short 11-minute film out of this story, which got 7 million views. The Imagination Foundation was founded after this cardboard creation. Nearly $220,000 has been donated to Caine’s Arcade Scholarship Fund.
